Primary Purpose

The Key and Lock Administrator is responsible for developing and maintaining the key access security systems on campus. The incumbent advises campus clients on hardware functionalities and key levels that are appropriate for their security objectives. The incumbent designs key and lock hierarchies to meet the needs of the client and works with suppliers, contractors, consultants, and UW locksmiths to implement the appropriate security solution.

Key Accountabilities:

1.  Developing key and lock systems for newly constructed space.



2.  Advising departments of best door hardware functionalities for their space.



3.  Maintaining accurate and reliable key and lock records.




4.  Nurturing relationships with Departmental Key Administrators.

  • AutoCAD experience is an asset  
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and engineering specifications.
