Responsible for managing and providing technical support for the day-to-day research operations of the Ecohydrology Research Group in the new Multiscale Environmental Particle Analysis Laboratory (MEPAL).
1. Manage laboratory resources and ensure quality control:
2. Supervise students and researchers using lab facilities
3. Conduct service analyses for outside clients
4. Collaborate with the Ecohydrology Group and other laboratories and lab managers in the private, government, and public sectors
5. Provide scientific and professional guidance on research operations
PhD in analytical chemistry, preferably with strong interdisciplinary component.
Minimum 3 years experience as an analytical chemist preferably in the environmental sector
Technical:
Broad-based science skills that span analytical developments in aquatic and solid state chemistry. Lab safety, general analytical chemistry, spectroscopy (trained in operating the XRF and XRD equipment), microscopy (electron microscopy)

Strong oral and written communication and networking skills. Presentation skills an asset.
Coaching (undergraduate student assistants and graduate students), staff management (sharing and allocating undergraduate research support staff with other lab coordinators and researchers)
