Primary Purpose

This position is responsible for providing executive assistance to the Director and other members of the CEMC as well as other stakeholders as determined by the Director.

Key Accountabilities:

Administrative support for the CEMC Director including but not limited to:

 

2.  Administrative support for the online Masters of Mathematics for Teachers (MMT) program

 

3.  Event Planning Support:

 

4.  School Visit Coordination Support:

 

5.  Other duties as assigned by the Director – CEMC

Position Requirements

Education:

A university degree in Business management is preferred or a college diploma and equivalent experience.

Experience:

A minimum of 1-2 years' experience providing support to a senior executive, preferably in an educational setting.
Experience in event planning and outreach is required.
Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office suite of software (including databases and pivot tables)
Intermediate level of comfort with high school mathematics
Advanced communication and problem solving skills and attention to detail
Intermediate experience with management of online collaboration tools such as SharePoint or other Wikis
Intermediate working knowledge of OnBase student management database and admissions tool
Basic familiarity with Quest student portal
Intermediate working knowledge of OAT student database
Intermediate knowledge of Outlook mail and calendar
Intermediate knowledge of LaTeX document editing

Decision-Making Authority:

Independently resolve activity-specific issues and make decisions, subject to available budgetary constraints.  Make decisions about details of on campus events (time, locations, etc.) and other CEMC activities subject to overall plans made with the CEMC Director and/or Business Manager.  Respond appropriately to inquiries from MMT students and prospective students.

Physical and Sensory Demands:

Minimal demands typical of an administrative position within an office environment – occasional lifting required; assistant is always available if needed

Working Environment:

Travel:  None
Working Hours:  Generally regular working hours however flexible schedule is required during peak loading periods to meet fixed deadlines.  Expectation for work outside of regular working hours is up to several evenings and up to 4 weekends per year.
