Development Officer, Planned Giving

General Accountability

Accountable to the Associate Director, Planned Giving (or designate) for individual Planned Giving fundraising within all faculties and units. Primary responsibilities carried out as a member of the development team include prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of Planned Giving donors.

Nature and Scope

The Development Officer, Planned Giving will report to the Associate Director (AD), Planned Giving. The AD will provide direction in establishing and clarifying priorities for the Planned Giving program, and will oversee the incumbent’s development and performance as a fundraising professional.

The unit works closely with Annual Giving, Stewardship, Leadership Giving, the Data Analyst, the Development Assistant, and others in ODAA who work as a team to co-ordinate and support fundraising activities.

The Development Officer, Planned Giving serves as a major communication liaison between the faculties, affiliated colleges and the Office of Development, keeping each area appraised of the plans and activities of the other. The incumbent will also function as a planned giving resource for the university community.
