General Accountability
Reporting to the Director of Development and Alumni Affairs, Engineering, the Alumni Officer is responsible for alumni programs in the Faculty of Engineering. The incumbent will plan and implement existing alumni programs within Engineering and develop new initiatives and strategies to strengthen relations between the Faculty and its alumni.
The Alumni Officer will work collaboratively with staff in the Offices of Alumni Affairs and the Engineering Development Team to establish and maintain co-ordinated, effective alumni programs for the Faculty. The incumbent will also work closely with staff in the Office of Development for systems, records and research support.

Specific Accountabilities
The Alumni Officer is responsible for fostering and strengthening relationships between alumni and the Faculty of Engineering by:
- Developing and maintaining a strategic plan for Engineering Alumni Affairs, including
- research, evaluation, and program auditing as necessary
- Planning, organizing and evaluating the alumni reunion program (currently 1 reunion/year)
- Administering the Alumni Achievement Medal program and managing the related
- promotions, communications and recognition efforts
- Working collaboratively on donor and alumni recognition and stewardship/cultivation efforts
(relationship management, personal visits, appropriate recognition opportunities)
- Managing volunteers, including the development and evaluation of volunteer opportunities
- Developing, implementing, promoting and evaluating current and new programs/services for Engineering alumni, and collaborating with the Office of Alumni Affairs on the effective promotion of central alumni programs/services to Engineering alumni
- Contributing alumni content (e.g. class notes, alumni profile(s), events and programming updates) to WEAL, the alumni newsletter (2 issues/year)
- Developing and implementing the Engineering Alumni Affairs web presence, including all content and design, and managing the implementation of electronic communications vehicles aimed at alumni
