Reports to: University Club Manager

General Accountability

Reporting to the University Club Manager, the incumbent will assist in the organization and co-ordination of daily lunches, special events and all banquet and bar events, ensuring the quality of service meets Club/departmental standards.

Nature and Scope

It is absolutely vital that the incumbent work with a high degree of professionalism and courtesy   when dealing with members, guests, staff and alumni.


The incumbent is the primary contact upon entering the establishment and the first point of contact.

Statistical Data

UW Food Services operates 19 outlets across campus and co-ordinates all administrative tasks through a centralized office. The Department’s budget is estimated at $15,000,000.00.  The two major expenses are food cost, $6,000,000 and wage benefits cost 7,000,000.

UW Food Services employs 98 full-time hourly paid staff, 35 full-time salaried staff and approximately 350 part-time hourly paid and full-time temporary staff.

Specific Accountabilities

Overseeing all dining room functions including determining staff needs (wait staff), verifying room layout.

Communicating between the kitchen and wait staff ensuring clear direction

Ensuring that all stations are properly stocked and serviced

Assists with hiring, training and develop wait staff and bartenders.

Preparing weekly schedule based on upcoming events

Performing all functions of the University Club Manager in their absence including opening and closing of the Club, securing the cash and liquor, making decisions on pricing of functions, checking food presentation, staffing.

Performs other duties as assigned
